Cancelled: Great Moments in Italian Opera

Dear Friends of The Palmetto Opera, Today we share the latest update on The Palmetto Opera’s 2020-2021 season with you as a valued member of our community.

After carefully weighing our options for the upcoming season under the guidance of local and state officials regarding all public events, we have decided to cancel the Great Moments in Italian Opera performance originally scheduled at the Spears Recital Hall at Columbia College for Sunday, April 26, 2020 and then rescheduled to a Sunday afternoon in October 2020.

If you purchased tickets either through Eventbrite or as part of a season subscription for the April 26 Great Moments in Italian Opera concert, you can certainly receive a refund for the ticket price. Simply email us your request at palmettoopera.sc@gmail.com. Also, if you wish, you may donate the purchased price of your ticket back to The Palmetto Opera as a tax-deductible gift to support our organization and musicians. Once again, simply email us, and we will credit the amount as a donation from you.

The Palmetto Opera remains committed to supporting artists and our audiences by bringing the highest quality operatic experiences in this challenging time. We are looking forward to a wonderful production of Puccini’s La Bohème on January 22, 2021 at The Koger Center and our concert with orchestra in April of 2021. This fall, we will be asking for your help in these unprecedented times for arts organizations when we kick off our annual fundraising drive.

We understand that this is a constantly evolving situation, and we thank you in advance for your patience and loyalty. As always, the safety and health of our audience and musicians is our highest priority. We will continue to monitor events and keep you informed. Also, please feel free to check for updates posted on our website, palmettooperasc.org. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at palmettoopera.sc@gmail.com. All of us at The Palmetto Opera look forward to making music with you again, but in the meantime, please stay healthy and safe. Sincerely, Dr. Peter Barton Chair, Board of Directors The Palmetto Opera
