Midlands Gives is May 7!

Thank you for thinking of us when giving to your favorite charities.

Your gifts will go toward an evening of grand opera, supporting local area singers and musicians, opera outreach in the community and our local schools-the list goes on. None of this would be possible without YOU! A gift today brings opera to our community tomorrow. From all of us here at The Palmetto Opera, thank you!

The Palmetto Opera's production of The Barber of Seville in January 2024 at the Koger Center for the Arts.

Midlands Gives is an 18-hour online giving event hosted by Central Carolina Community Foundation. Its mission is to bring communities together by raising money and awareness for nonprofit organizations across the region. By contributing just $20 or more, even fellow opera enthusiasts have the opportunity to become philanthropists. The Palmetto Opera currently has a matching gift incentive for all of its donors, which means your donation will be doubled! We hope you will visit the Midlands Gives website at www.midlandsgives.org and donate today.

What will we do with the money raised?

A donation will be applied to one of the following: 1) the performance costs of a full production; 2) to cover expenses not covered by ticket sales for the Spring Concert; or 3) to cover the fee for local opera students to perform in our educational outreach program for college students, Opera is Awesome.

Help us continue to grow! Be a Palmetto Opera philanthropist!

When you make a financial contribution to The Palmetto Opera, you are impacting opera in South Carolina. This performance and our outreach programs would not be possible without the generosity of our patrons. Small or large, your contribution today will help make a difference in your arts community now.

Attend our grand operas and concerts.

See It Once, Love It Forever. Our operas feature highly acclaimed international opera soloists, local performers, and an orchestra with local musicians. On June 9, 2024, The Palmetto Opera will present A Celebration of Love: from Broadway and opera, a concert featuring vocal soloists and orchestra at the Koger Center for the Arts. Please join us again in January 2025 for Tosca.

Attend an Opera Thursday.

For a little taste of opera, join us for the first and second Thursday of every month for a magical evening of great food, lively company, Broadway classics and famous arias sung by Midlands' opera singers at Villa Tronco Italian Restaurant and other downtown Columbia locations.

Support Opera is Awesome.

Our educational program for college school students prepares them for attending a Palmetto Opera performance. Tickets are provided free of cost for students that participate in this workshop. Reviews by students: Awesome. Reviews by teachers: Exceptional. If you are a music teacher in Columbia and interested in an "Opera is Awesome" workshop for your classes, please contact Mari Hazel at palmettoopera.sc@gmail.com.
