Katie Gatch, soprano
Katie Gatch, from Lexington, SC, is the Director of Choirs and Music Department Chair at Cardinal Newman School and is a singer and voice teacher in Columbia. Her opera and musical theater roles include the Queen of the Night, Die Zauberflöte; Governess, Turn of the Screw; Belle, Beauty and the Beast; and Hope, Something’s Afoot. She has also enjoyed music directing for musical theater productions in Columbia, including The Wizard of Oz (Town Theatre,) Little Shop of Horrors (Heathwood,) and Anastasia (Cardinal Newman.)
Dr. Benjamin Stogner
Benjamin Stogner is married to his wife Erica and father to his daughters Elena and Evelyn, and his newborn son Elliot! He has his DMA from the University of South Carolina and his masters and undergraduate degrees from Liberty University. Benjamin has a passion for music and a desire to use his musical talent to benefit the community. Dr. Stogner is currently serving as the Minister of Music at Florence Baptist Church and as the Artistic Director of the Rutherford County Community Choir and the Palmetto Mastersingers.
Opera Thursday was created to entertain lifelong aficionados and introduce new listeners to the beauty of opera. Join us each month at Villa Tronco for an unforgettable evening of fine dining, lively company, and captivating performances of arias and Broadway favorites by Midlands-area opera singers.
Dinner begins at 6:00 PM. The performance is at 7:00 PM.
